I have what feels like every ripping & encoding software under the sun. I've been using avidemux, cropping the edges of the VHS image and trim the static off the beginning and end, but all the reencoding software I've tried has the same problem.

I settled with DVDFab5 as my ripper and Avidemux as the encoder. When I reencode the video or audio or both, the result comes out very off sync near the end, almost a full second. I love the x264 codec and think its the best for what I am doing, but its hard to find good support for it. you may now use avidemux to recombine the video (avi) file with the audio (ac3). if the avi file is too small, chances are the ts file is no good.

Im ripping just the main movie with DVDFab (.Vob) and then encoding to a. respective directories and throw out avi that are too small.

MP4 container with x264 for video and AAC for audio.Įvery movie was out of sync until I finally found that I needed to change the frame rate from 29 to 24. (also over time found I need to manually set the aspect ratio too.) AVIDEMUX AUDIO SYNC MOVIE If the second title is also out of sync, contact Netflix's customer service. Play another title to see if you're having the same problem. If this doesn't fix the problem, go to 3. You can re-set by simply unplugging it for 15-20 seconds and then plugging it back in. So there has got to be a way to fix this. Re-set the device you are using to stream Netflix. I think for most of them I have discovered that if I open the properties tab in Avidemux that the video track is longer or shorter than the audio track. I do not think a set offset will fix it, the sound will slowly desync worse over time. Also I really suck at finding a offset, there seems to be no way to do it on the fly with Avidemux that I know of so you have to save a small test file and its a major pain. Even if I got it right I would "think" its still off and keep messing with it till the end of time.

So does anybody know how to fix these audio issues I have exclusively in Avidemux? If not I would still like to do the video part and have the easiest method possible to do the audio part with a separate program. Preferably AAC (FAAC) if possible.įor now I have this for you it could potentially help a lot.Ī screen shot of the properties tab in Avidemux after opening the original. Now here is a the properties tab in Avidemux of the file after I processed it with AutoGK and the sync of this file is PERFECT Notice the Audio time of 02:02:55 and the Video time of 02:03:07 so its like a good 12 seconds difference. AVI file AutoGK made has the Video time also 02:02:55 so they match and thus are in sync! The Audio time is still 02:02:55 so to me that means this is not an audio issue on the audio side, but a video issue causing the audio problems.

Hmmm, as I guessed the delay compensation corrects the sync on the timeline but is definitely pushing the audio 480ms ahead upon rendering and if I leave the clips alone without it they are out of sync on the timeline but render correctly. However, its still 23.976 frames per second, the same setting I used in Avidemux so I have no clue what the hell is causing it.

Have you tested a render from the timeline from the test clip? For comparison's sake I rendered to the iPod Touch 700k preset and the resulting file appears to be the same as the original file, in other words delay0r is either not taken into account in the rendered file OR it is throwing the rendered file 480ms ahead, I'll have to look closer and perhaps I'll try a render directly from the original file without delay compensation and see what the end result is and post back. Then play the MP4 video in the right-hand screen to confirm the exact delaying period. Once the MP4 video has been imported, then make sure you have selected Copy for each module. Efforts on this are much appreciated, in some further testing I tried delayOr and found 480 was the ticket for perfect sync on my own machine and then the clips on the timeline have AV Sync.however unfortunately rendering is not producing an in-sync file. Open AviDemux and add MP4 video with which you would like to sync audio to the program.
